Fritz Henderson Really Does Smile

TheGMSource - The ghost town known as TheGMSource is slowly but surely getting brushed off these days to find light. Normally, I like to take the summer off to drive my Solstice across country to see some friends that have moved away. This year I've taken a bit more time off unexpectedly because I was recently hired back at The General. With that said, there are a BUNCH of changes happening at GM each and everday.

So many changes in fact, that the plant I worked at last year really isn't like the plant I'm working at now. It's all very different in how the company does things. With that said, and with absolutely no relation to what I just wrote, Fritz Henderson does smile. Believe it or not.

Labor Day 2009: Fuel Mileage Out Of Our 2009 Pontiac G5

The Color Of Our '09 Pontiac G5

TheGMSource - Now, I know that Labor Day was a few months ago but I had to share the fuel economy that I averaged on my trip from a city in metro-Detroit up to Caseville, Michigan. Just for reference, I'm about halfway between the GM Ren Cen and the Warren Tech Center. Caseville, Michigan is located up in the thumb of my great state.

Buick Halo Car Coming Soon? Maybe? Possibly?

TheGMSource - Buick has what seems to be a sure-fire hit on its hands in the 2010 Buick LaCrosse. The car is much more "grown up" and very "mature" in style. It appeals to me (I'm 25) and it also appeals to friends of mine that have seen the new LaCrosse.

However nice the LaCrosse is, it wouldn't draw me in to a Buick dealership. In fact, nothing Buick or GMC sells would draw me in to their dealership - and that's a major problem considering what would pull me in to the Buick-GMC dealership has been cancelled: Pontiac.

SPIED: Buick Regal In GM Video & Buicks Response!

TheGMSource - The Chinese Buick Regal is appearing in GM North America ads as a "concept" however it has yet to be introduced officially in any form in North America. Today, we bring more shots of the Chinese Regal in a new ad shot for Buick North America, and we have the official word from Buick on the Regal.

GM Sells 2 Million Buicks in China

TheGMSource - Buick was saved by GM because of it's strong presence in China. We all know this. If it weren't for China it's fair to say that Buick would have also seen the ax when the Auto Task Force came through Motown a few months back. What may have happened and what actually did happen are two different things.

Buick is still here - and in China and the brand recently sold it's 2 Millionth vehicle.

Buick Shows The Regal In New Advertisement

TheGMSource - This screen capture is from a new ad released today showcasing Buicks new tagline, "Look At Me Now." In the very far back there's a mysterious four door sedan shown. In print at the bottom of the ad, it lists the "Buick Regal Concept." The Regal has been the topic of rumors for several months now since it went on sale in China.

Hit the jump for the full spread look.

GM Ending Vibe Production At Nummi Plant This August

TheGMSource - Pontiac has announced...scratch that. What's left of Pontiac has announced today that it is no longer producing the Pontiac Vibe at it's joint venture plant called Nummi. The Vibe is scheduled to remain the last available retail model to consumers and is expected to be offered through 2010.

GM Launches Buick LaCrosse Site

TheGMSource - The 2010 Buick LaCrosse is a very, very sharp vehicle. I've seen a few tooling around roads here in metro-Detroit and its quite a head turner. On Monday, July 22nd GM will host a media "eVent" where the 2010 Buick LaCrosse will make its official worldwide debut for media.

Today though, we give you a sneak peak at the new Buick LaCrosse web-site, courtesy of the General.

The Idiocy Continues: Fritz Says Again The Pontiac G8 Won't Be Rebadged

TheGMSource - I don't like to follow up to news posts with pictures of the same car, but the G8 is an exception, right? Afterall, it's Pontiacs best selling retail model and sells nearly 4,000 units a year. If it sustained 4,000 units a year the G8 would sell 48,000 units to retail customers. That's a great feat in todays depressed market.

You'd think GM would want to hold on to those 4k units a month, or potentially add to them. Afterall, the company is in  bankruptcy because it can't seem to sell CARS people want to buy. Seems as if the G8 has the publics attention. So, what do you do if your GM? You slam the door shut on the G8 coming states side as something else.

Voters Speak: Want Pontiac Saved

TheGMSource - I've said it before - I don't know how GM plans to replace the hundreds of thousands in sales it will lose from phasing out the Pontiac brand. The brand is GM's third best selling brand, behind only Chevrolet and GMC. That's quite a few cars to replace overnight.

At any rate, some 1,693 would-be buyers were polled which GM brand they want saved. The answer: Pontiac.

Buicks Replacement To The Saturn Vue Spied

TheGMSource - We love when GM welcomes national news outlets into its design studios. Not only do they give us a sneak peak of what it's like inside a GM Design Center, it also gives us a sneek peak of what's to come for the General. Today - the Buick replacement for the Saturn Vue.

Pontiac Solstice Coupe To Be Quite The Rare Arrow Head

TheGMSource - Tucked away in GM's Bankruptcy filing yesterday was word that GM would close 11 assembly plants. One of them is the Wilmington, Delaware assembly facility where the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky are made. The plant is scheduled to close at the end of July. One may remember that Pontiac had announced the Solstice Coupe for production.

Production of the Solstice Coupe is underway, but this car is going to be one of the rarest Pontiacs ever sold.

GM Has Pontiac G8 Production Contracts In Place Through 2010

TheGMSource - When Fritz Henderson announced yesterday that the Pontiac brand was getting the ax before the end of 2010 there were some surprises. One of the biggest surprises was how quickly the brand would be cut from GM's portfolio.
